Another challenge!

Over at Simon Says, the Monday challenge was to create either with a cameo or use something that would make a cameo appearance in your project ...

So I kind of did both, but in doing both I also kind of did neither ... yeah ... one of those ....

I decided to use a vintage silhouette image from the Graphics Fairy .... I printed it out and then sat with it for a few days ... i decided to flip the page over and cover it with strips cut from a magazine ... I used a very victorian wall image as the main portion of her head, then a sea image and finally an image of an ancient brick wall ... Once i had glued the strips down, i let it dry (well almost dry) and then i cut out the silhouette image and adhered it to my background ...  I then added a lovely Jane Austen quote.

But then ...

...

...

I blew the quote ... i wrote down that it was from Sense and Sensibility  when .... *gasp* ...... it is actually from Pride and Prejudice ....

making a cameo appearance on my art journal page is the glaring quote error .... sheesh, i have lost all of my  street cred here with that error!

Thanks for stopping by ....
Peace love and paper
Jo

This project is A-MA-ZING! I'm an eternal librarian and an English major and I didn't even notice the mis-quote! When an artistic piece looks this incredible, you can attach whatever quote you want- right or wrong! I am stunned by your creative use of different textures and techniques- particularly the magazine strips. I have simply never seen anything quite like this and I love what you created here. Completely inspiring and endlessly clever! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!

What a wonderful project...this page is absolutely amazing and I just adore it. It's so soft and feminine but so striking and I'm sure no-one would have noticed the quote if you hadn't mentioned it!! ;) Thank you so much for sharing this project and for joining us over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog... :)

Absolutly stunning!

But you didn't attribute the quote to a specific book on the piece so no harm, no foul, right? Especially since it's a gorgeous cover.

That is so gorgeous. I'd be practicing ways to turn those "s"s into swirly "p"s, if it bothers you. I wouldn't have known if you didn't fess up.

This is sublime and as for the error, all is forgiven when you create art such as this!
