I've got butterflies ....

loads of them ... not in my tummy ... and not real butterflies ... but a bunch of fakes ... formerly used in a store window display ...

and I have flowers from the same window ... an old black skirt, an old lace window panel ... and somehow with this not much stuff I am trying to make a costume ... I am going to a charity scrapbooking crop this weekend, and the theme for the masque portion of the crop is "Scrap Decadence" ... and since i use a lot of butterfly and flower embellishments on my pages I thought i might put them on me ... buy how????

I am completely stumped as to what to do ... and I am leaving friday so i have to have the outfit ready by thursday ... and i have a million other things to do ...

any suggestions???

at any rate,  Mona Lisa Mae  has offered to help ... or play ... and Honey is always around to distract me and take me away from my costume making ...

This post about butterflies and desperation is brought to you by the letter B and Jenny's fabulous Alphabet meme ... go here to read some fabulous B posts.

It looks like you have great materials. I bet it will come together beautifully.

I'm not the right person to ask for fashion advice, but I think you should post the final result so we can all share!

Are the butterflies paper or material? If material you could just sew them on the skirt with the flowers. If not, maybe you could wear them on a belt. Make a necklace of some sort. Put them on a hat. Put them on a purse. I hope you come up with something and show us what you came up with. Good luck.

If you sew a bit you could sew a thick, thick border of butterflies around the hem of a black skirt. Then you could wear a bright colored knit top that you have stitched a few butterflies to the shoulder of. A headband with a few glued on would totally complete your ensemble.

But, you are going to show us pictures, right?

You have to promise because those are so happy and bright. I just know you will be able to rock the whole butterfly look.

If you have lots you could also take some along in a little basket and hand them out here and there to people at the crop!

Thanks for linking and thanks for letting us share in your excitement.

What a fun post!

A+

You are far more creative when it comes to this stuff than me. In other words...we're not worthy...ha. I can't wait to see what you come up with....or with what you come up...no, that doesn't sound right either. I have a big, blank wooden cross to do something with and I would like to ask you the same question.

I don't craft. I do have a glue gun. If that might help, just let me know.

And hammers. I have hammers, too.

By now you've probably found your solution - and with all that inspiration I'll bet it's a great one.

I think you need to go as a butterfly collector. fashion an outfit from the fabric , use tulle as netting around a hat and attach butterflys all around and on you, some can be attached to wire to move about freely. also carry a butterfly net!
This can be really cool, best of luck and take pictures I want to see your end results!
