I am not a ....

Zebra ... yes I said Zebra ... kind of a lame Z word for our Z posts ... reminds me of those alphabet books from my youth ... Z is for Zebra ... C is for Cat ... that kind of thing.

But, I am not a Zebra ... i love the way a Zebra looks, so black, so white, so very little in between ... no grey areas.

I think that is the opposite of me ... I am kinda colourful ... yes, i do think so ... no black and whites here. Just a blend of colours, melding, winding, mixing, bleeding ... kind of sparkling and sometimes effervescent ... but more often than not... muted ... think Monet ... think of his water lilies, evoke a summer breeze, mix in warmth ... lots of love, and a twisted sense of humour ... arms that wish they could encompass the world and heal all wounds ... a tasteful bit of glitter and yeah, you get me ... I am so not a Zebra ... which is a good thing, mostly because i love my opposable thumbs and I don't like walking on all fours ... i did say twisted, right??

As always this post has been brought to you by the letter Z and Jenny Matlock’s incredibly fabulous Alphabe-Thursday meme … go visit her blog links to some interesting and amusing Z posts! ... geez I can't believe that next week will be the last week ... i have really enjoyed playing along with Jenny's meme!

I think the older I'm getting I might be becoming a zebra when it comes to clothes. I go for the black part on the bottom, it hides a multitude of sins lol. Great Z post.

I was hoping someone would think of Zebra! They are cool animals, even though you're right about them being rather colorless....

girl, you are a twisted rainbow and I love you for it :D

I'm one of those multi-coloured creatures too. Black and white is too restrictive!

I've seen a lot zebras in my life. I used to live in South Africa. They are actually brown and beige. I was in shock at first. My childhood ideas of zebras were shattered. I finally got used to the idea. Fun post. Thanks for sharing.

Great "Z" post. You incorporated your colorful self into an otherwise black and white idea. Nice job.

Great Z post! Being a Zebra might be a bit boring, but it sure would make it easier to get dressed for parties :) Kat

I'm a lot like you. Softly muted colors trying to stay in the middle ground of serenity where all is not black or white. Some days it's a struggle not to live an all or nothing life. Living in the color is so much easier.

Enjoyed your post, especially the Zebra picture and this line:

"arms that wish they could encompass the world and heal all wounds ..."

Thanks for sharing! And thanks for stopping by my blog as well -- I appreciate it!

Great Z post! I love the analogy you drew!

I love the rich mixtures of colour in Monet's paintings. I hope I am much more of a Monet than a zebra!

I think I'm slowly becoming a zebra. I used to like bright colors, but now I wear a lot of black and white.

When I look in my closet I thin zebra. Lots of black pants and white shirts for me. Easy to decide what to wear for the day. LOL
Very clever post! ~ Sarah

I loved the twist you put on the prompt, Jo!

I enjoy my opposable thumbs too.

I enjoyed your Z post analogy of black and white thinking to a zebra. My life is full of gray areas, and sometimes I think a little black and white, cut and dried would be nice.

Oh Jo.

What a wonderful link to Alphabe-Thursday's letter "Z".

I really enjoyed how you wrote this. Sometimes I think I would like to be a little more black and white!

But alas, I think we are all as we're supposed to be...even if sometimes we think we should change.

Thank you for being you, Jo.

You are really a gem!

A+
