The F Word(s) ...

Facebook …. Truth is … I really don’t enjoy facebook that much … reading everyone’s status and clicking “like” just doesn’t do it for me … and I don’t have a need to keep the world informed of my minute by minute status … little abbreviations of friend’s lives … I’m not abbreviation girl. I want to know who you are, what you enjoy and what you truly think, what makes you tick, how you made that gorgeous thing … I think that’s why I blog, and read blogs … I don’t want the surface or the link or how many cows you have on Farmville … I want real substance …

Father … now this man has real substance … my dad is the real deal … he is a real man … he can cook & bake with the best of them, he can (and has) built houses from scratch … he teaches, he lives, he loves, he listens, he learns (wow, maybe I should save those words for my L post) … he is still in love with my mother … and I have always know that I am unconditionally loved … even during my rebellious snotty teen aged years … He is an amazing role model … he has saved us from bears, given shelter to a family who lost their home, helped strangers, saved lives, rescued kids in a sinking boat … he has always provided us with stability, taught us how to be strong, to have a strong moral compass and strong work ethic …

Dad 1960

Family … my parents and my daughter are the most important people in my life … they are the reason I am who I am … they give me strength, they give me joy, they give me love and I return it in abundance …

DD, Dad & Mom (taken 2 days ago ... cheeky DD)

Faith … I have it … in my family and the strength of its bonds … in my daughter who is so strong in so many ways and in me …

Follow … did you know you can follow your own blog on BlogSpot? I tried it because I was bored and yup … it works, you can follow yourself … I just can’t figure out how to unfollow myself, which is what I want to do … because now I look all stuck-up and totally desperate for followers … in all truth, I am laughing at myself for my silliness!

I am playing Alphabe-Thursday with Jenny Matlock … for other fabulous F words; check out the McLinky links on her blog.

I accidentally followed myself twice, and I eventually undid it, but I can't remember how.

FABULOUS FOTO of you FATHER! Excellent F post!!! Happy Alphabe-Thursday!

Go into "Manage Accounts" and click. All the blogs you follow will line up alphabetically. Go to your blog and click on "settings". From there you can unfollow! LOL. It happened to me, too when I was trying to follow a new follower of mine and accidently clicked on the wrong follow button.

Wonderful F words, btw.

I haven't been lured into Facebook, I just don't get it. Your Father seems like a great guy. You can tell the love you have for your family. Great F words. Oh, and I messed up and followed myself too LOL. I'd tell you how I stopped but I don't remember. Just keep fooling around with it eventually you will figure it out.

You are so blessed to still have your dad. I was only 18 when mine passed away and we never got to be adult friends. I made some good friends on Twitter but don't use Facebook much, although it does keep me in contact with people I don't see much

Good Morning Jo,

What a loving post of your Father. I totally agree with your FB thoughts. I do have a FB page but am not faithful at keeping it up. It's a good thing because I don't take care of farm animals very well!! LOL

THanks for sharing with us and thanks for stopping by the farmhouse for a visit. We love having company!

I'm loving this post, especially the tribute to your father, and family, of course, means the world to me too.

As for Facebook, I don't go on it often..

Following, you must had figured out how to remove yourself, I don't see you there, but that part made me laugh..

It is because of fathers (and mothers) and family (siblings and cousins etc) that I do love facebook. It helps me stay connected to my far flung family and close friends. I think facebook is what you make it. For us it is the fastest way to send pictures and share important milestones like high school graduation parties and college acceptances and fun things like what our Christmas tree looks like. Things that we would normally do in person if we only lived closer.

Wow, you said it all!! I agree completely!

What sweet things to say about your dad - he really sounds like THE man! They don't make many men, real men, like that nowadays. Which is such a shame.

I was into Farmville for about a month. It became my desire to have the best farm ever. Eventually I realized that it didn't MEAN anything! haha

Your post made me chuckle-- I followed myself, too! I was trying to explain over the phone how to follow someone's blog, and went through the steps with her, and before I knew it, I was following me! I have to say, I love using Facebook-- so many of my friends are super busy moms, and little tidbits of contact is better than no contact at all! And, I'm addicted to Scrabble!

Fabulous "F" post Jo! I did not like facebook at first until I found how to "become a fan " of many web sites and magazines, etc, that I enjoyed, and now I like to read their quick updates.

Your Dad looks like a special man --you are lucky to have him and you Mom still in your life.

Like the saying goes --Faith, Family and Friends!

I wasn't much of a facebook person, but it is a good quick way to keep connected with people back home!

I had no idea that you could follow yourself, that's too funny!

Your blurb about your dad really made me smile.
