A very very quick Saturday Centus this week ... Jenny's prompt is in bold
Blowing a strand of hair from her hot and sticky face Karen opens the door to her pay by the week motel room ... she is greeted by a familiar refrain barely audible over the ancient air conditioner
“Exit 181, ½ a mile a head
You left me there, it’s a place I dread”
“Seriously Kenny, those are the lyrics that are going to make you famous? … why don’t you just get your butt off the couch and get a real job” “Here” … she barks as she drops the overloaded laundry basket at his feet, “the least you can do is fold the damn laundry.”

I'm gathering he's a wanna be musician and he's not very motivated or prosperous is he?
Darn right make that guy fold that laundry!
Great use of the prompt!~Ames
I guarantee that those words make him famous and he dumps her as soon as the ink dries...
Great Saturday Centus
Very creative...but with songs like Tic Tok and Baby around I am sure Kenny will find a older audience to happy for his music. Loved this.
You should never crush a man's ambition ;-)
I really like that you used this prompt as song lyrics. Poor lady! I hope he does better with the laundry than he does with writing music.

Excellent story Jo !!! Every family has a dreamer with no talent in some form. Unfortunately, they drag everyone down along with their never realized dreams !
hahaha, How do you come up with these? So very creative, poor Kenny.
I bet he can't wait till his laundry folding days are over!

Good work! Dreamers - or lazy people, as they are sometimes called - are made of the stuff that makes life interesting. The sad part will come if he is better at folding laundry than he is with songwriting! You made this scene come to life. I was there.
Namaste..........cj
Loved your take on this, Jo! Great story! Poor Kenny. I hate folding laundry too! Maybe he'll write a song about it! LOL!
I do so agree!
I THINK those might by the lyrics to some of the songs I hear on the radio! ha!
Loved this clever story. You always come from left field and dazzle me with your brilliance.
