“Jon, it doesn’t have to be that way”
He glared at her. “Are you kidding me Sam? I’ve had the plans drawn up since May,
it took me two months just to write the computer program and I’ve spend
thousands on the electronics alone, so yes, it has to be that way. I’m not going to let that jerk
Sanderson outshine me again. This
is going to be a red, white and blue Christmas that will blow away his
pathetic, done before, lollypop lane display”
“But driving two towns over just for one string of
lights?” “Tis the season” she
muttered to herself.

There are people in our neighborhood like that! Rod believes that less is more. We'll never win the decorations contest in Copper Creek! Oh, well!
Great take on the prompt!!!!
How fun. A friend posted a photo on Facebook of a house with Christmas lights...they simply spelled the word "ditto". I thought that was hilarious.
We have locals like that too. Crazy but fun to look at in a kind of glaring way! Hi, I've popped by from Jenny's Saturday Centus.
I always have grand plans in October and by December, I am too busy, tired, or just plain lazy to fulfill them! We do decorate, but never how I dreamed of doing it. Maybe next year!
Neighbor rivalry. Gotta do better than the Jones'. Go ahead I say. I wouldn't want their electricity bill.Very good Jo!~Ames
I'm chuckling! I'm sure there are folks like that who spend most of the year planning how to out do the neighbours!
LOL, this reminds me of some movies I've seen where people are so particular and over the top about their Christmas decorating ha.
I am boring white lights all the way no blow up plastic anything
Oh yeah, this is great...and yes it tis the season !!!For so many reasons!
You ain't seen nothin' 'til you've driven around the countrysides of Georgia to see Christmas lights! The Griswold's have nothing on some of us rednecks.
Merry Christmas,
cj
It does seem to "run" in neighborhoods...lucky for me, I'm not the competitive type for that type of stuff.
I don't even have a tree up yet.
Great job. This is funny and sad at the same time!
=)
Great job! love this little story.
hahaha, Too funny!
We love doing up our yard but most of our neighbors don't do anything, so sad! I'd love to see more lights! Great story Jo.
Hugs Lynn
